Brain Injured Passenger Recovers from Resort
In 2007, Ms. Nichols was a passenger on a horse carriage that overturned at Continental Acres Horse Carriage Resort in Central Florida. She suffered a severe brain injury when her head hit the pavement. Unable to work or care for herself, her family turned to Pita Weber Del Prado. P&D sued the resort on the basis that it had a poorly designed, tight exit that forced carriages into tight turns, leading to a potential for accidents. After a two-year litigation slug-out, the Resort settled on confidential terms before trial. P&D is proud that now, Ms. Nichols will be cared for and can lead a dignified life.
