Pita Weber Del Prado Named Among Best Law Firms in the Country
The lawyers of Pita Weber Del Prado are the proud recipients of a prestigious honor. The firm was recently named as one of the Best Law Firms in the country. The designation was granted by national news outlet, U.S. News and World Report and lawyer ranking service Best Lawyers. These selections are based on a variety of factors and they are presented each year to recognize excellence in the legal community. It is a distinct honor to be included on the list.
Pita Weber Del Prado is a firm of trial lawyers, working in a variety of personal injury practice areas. They offer zealous advocacy and competent legal counsel to their clients, providing each of them with the respect and personal attention that they deserve.
The Lawyers
Howard K. “Skip” Pita is no stranger to accolades. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and listed as a Top Lawyer by the South Florida Legal Guide. He was also designated by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer in Florida since 2011.
Skip’s trial experience includes cases against major insurance agencies. Regardless of the challenge, he developed a consistent record of successful verdicts and settlements. In 2003, Skip represented a paralyzed security officer who was involved in a contested automobile accident. Through his efforts, the jury awarded his client a $10 million verdict. In 2007, after winning a medical malpractice jury award, Skip’s opponent nominated him to the American Board of Trial Advocacy. Skip recently served as lead counsel in the Shucker’s deck collapse that occurred during the Heat-Spurs Finals in 2013. In that case, Skip worked tirelessly to uncover evidence that ultimately led to the combined plaintiffs’ successful motion on punitive damages. Today, most of the injured parties have been able to settle on confidential terms.
Shannon Del Prado is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocacy Forum. In 2011, the Miami Herald named her as a top lawyer and her very first trial resulted in an impressive $485,000 jury award. Since 2004, Shannon has been included as a Top Lawyer by the South Florida Legal Guide and the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice. Her work is also recognized by her peers, who elected her to the Board of the Miami-Dade Justice Association, a highly respected trial lawyer organization.
Shannon is a member of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and The American Association for Justice.
The 2015 Best Law Firms List
For the last five years, the U.S. News and World Report has worked with Best Lawyers to provide consumers with a comprehensive listing of the country’s best law firms. As stated in the official announcement, “Firms included in the 2015 Best Law Firms list are recognized for professional excellence with persistently impressive ratings from clients and peers. Achieving a tiered ranking signals a unique combination of quality law practice and breadth of legal expertise.”
The 2015 rankings are especially impressive, as the pool of candidates was larger than ever before. The committee received almost 600,000 law firm assessments, provided by more than 17,000 lawyers. They also solicited over 40,000 consumer evaluations from more than 7,000 clients.
“For five years, we have combined massive amounts of hard data with peer reviews and client assessments to develop our law firm rankings,” says Steven Naifeh, CEO and Co-Founder of Best Lawyers. “Increasingly, clients tell us that ours are the most thorough, accurate, and helpful rankings of law firms available anywhere.”
The lawyers of Pita Weber Del Prado are committed to continuing the level of practice and advocacy that earned this illustrious designation for the firm.
