PWD Partner, Rosanna Weber, lead the charge to recover the full insurance policy limits of $350,000 for their client who hit a school bus on his motorcycle due to the driver’s negligence
In May of 2018, our client, Mr. Y, was riding his motorcycle in the City of Miami when a large yellow school bus (filled with elementary school aged children) made an unprotected left-hand turn directly in his path and then unexpectedly came to a complete stop. Unfortunately, there was not enough time or distance for Mr. Y to avoid hitting the side of the bus, which knocked him to the ground. Fortunately, Mr. Y was wearing a helmet, which he always did. But that did not protect his ribs, which were broken or his neck, which was also hurt.
Mr. Y retained our Firm and Partner, Rosanna M. Weber, to represent him. Rosanna and stellar paralegal, Loraine Castellon, worked tirelessly from the very beginning handling legal and insurance issues on behalf of Mr. Y so that he could concentrate on healing quickly and getting back to the things that matter most to him — being with his family and returning to work.
Although there is often a bias against motorcycles and people who ride them, Rosanna and Loraine were able to overcome that bias and recover the full insurance policy limits of $350,000 for Mr. Y. This case was a little more challenging than usual because the crash involved a motorcycle vs. a school bus full of elementary school students. But truth be told, Mr. Y did nothing wrong. And he was entitled to swift justice and a fair result. Both of which PWD ensured he obtained.
