What is umbrella insurance?
Video Transcription:
Umbrella insurance is a policy that protects and covers the defendant above the basic limits of liability insurance that they may have. For example, in the case of an individual, suppose they have $100,000 or $300,000 policy on their car, they may actually have an umbrella policy that applies, in case the injuries exceed the underlying limits.
In the case of a business sometimes, this is one-and-a-half, maybe a half million policy or million policy. Where the injuries exceed that, there may be an umbrella policy that we can get to, to fully compensate the client.
