Authorities are reporting that an accident occurred in Mayport, Florida on Saturday, June 22nd.  A woman who was in her 50s was exiting a Jacksonville Transit Authority bus when she mysteriously got snarled with the bus. The injuries associated with the incident proved fatal for the woman.

According to sources, the victim was a local resident of the area. The transit authority is being fully cooperative with the investigation, which remains ongoing.  Further details regarding the incident have not been released to the public at this time.

The accident did cause parts of the street where it occurred to be closed off for a period of time while police and emergency crews were on the screen assessing the injuries of the victims and obtaining the information of the incident.  Rerouting was conducted as a result, according to the Florida Times-Union.  As more information is made clear, it will be released.
